The Baptist Foundation of Colorado (BFC) is called to carry out the Great Commission by developing, managing and providing financial resources for Southern Baptist ministries.
The BFC develops financial resources through gifts from God’s people, the earnings from invested excess funds from “non-profits,” and interest from loans made to our churches and associations. The BFC has a Board of Directors which manages financial resource growth and stability in accordance with good financial principles. Finally, the BFC provides financial resources to our SBC ministries through loans to our churches and associations, scholarships to our students and grants to our pastors in need.
Scripture – The Bible will be our ultimate source of authority.
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness…”
2 Timothy 3:16
Integrity – Our integrity will be based on this transforming power of God and His Word, not on the conforming patterns of this world.
“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of the world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – His good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Stewardship – We have been entrusted with a financial stewardship from God and we desire that we will be proven faithful.
“So then, men ought to regard us as servants (stewards) of Christ and as those entrusted with the secret things of God. Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.”
1 Corinthians 4:1,2
Excellence – Our excellence is based upon the fact that God says that whatever we do, and what we speak, should be done with our entire effort within God’s strength.
“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”
Service – Our service will be based on God’s instruction, teaching and counsel, knowing that God will be watching our service.
“I will instruct you and teach you in the very way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.”
